Mimar Sinan was the Chief Ottoman Architect and Civil Engineer for Sultans Suleiman the Magnificent, Selim II, and Murad III.
He held the position of Chief Architect of the Palace, which meant being the overseer of all construction work of the Ottoman Empire, for nearly 50 years, working with a large team of assistants consisting of architects and master builders.
He was responsible for the construction of more than 300 major structures and other more modest projects, such as schools.
Treat your body, soul and mind to a luxurious, multi-sensory experience in an authentic, inviting and elegant setting! At Çatma Mescit Hammam you not only pamper your body but also indulge all of your senses and renovate your whole well-being.
You will wear a special hammam towel called peştemal, made of organic cotton or linen. It’s a tradition coming from the Ottoman Empire to the modern days.
Our massage therapists are from the Far East, mostly from Thailand. Traditional hammam full-body scrub and foam wash are performed by Turkish bath attendants called “tellak”.
Most of the hammams are not mixed, so you can join a male or female section of a Turkish bath. However, you may book a private event in our hammam and invite both male and female guests.
